MirrorWeb Insight customers can use the MirrorWeb Archiver for Slack to capture content from a monitored Slack enterprise grid workspace
Enabling Slack archiving will automatically capture any content and interactions within a Slack enterprise grid workspace and pass them through to MirrorWeb for archiving and ongoing communications surveillance.
Your Slack workspace will need to have access to Slack's Discovery APIs in order to enable the MirrorWeb Archiver for Slack. For more information, please contact your Slack Account Manager.
Adding the app
To capture Slack data, please carry out the following steps:
- Contact your MirrorWeb Customer Success Manager with the details of your Slack enterprise grid workspace and the administrator email to send the app authentication email to;
- Your MirrorWeb Customer Success Manager will send an invite link to the workspace administrator asking them to authorise the application;

You will be presented with a list of permissions MirrorWeb is requesting to archive your Slack content. Click on Allow

You have successfully authenticated the MirrorWeb archiver for Slack
Viewing content inside Insight
If Slack Archiving is enabled in the workspace, then all authenticated content will be automatically indexed within MirrorWeb Insight. As a compliance analyst, use the following steps to view only your Slack communication archives:
- Start a new search by going to Communications >> Search within MirrorWeb Insight.
- Under platforms, select Slack as the target platform;
- Select a date range for your query, and tap the Search button;
- Click on a message on the left-hand side to view the content.
Removing the App
If you need to remove the MirrorWeb Archiver for your Slack workspace from your organization, please carry out the following steps. Please note: if you remove the app you will need to request an authentication email again from your customer success manager to reactivate.
- From your desktop, click your workspace name in the sidebar.
- Select Tools & settings from the menu, then click Manage Apps to open the Slack App Directory.
- From the left sidebar, select Installed Apps.
- Find and select “Mirrorweb Insight”, then click App Details.
- From the app page, click the Configuration tab.

Third-party and Custom apps:
- Scroll down to Remove App and select Remove App.
